Mighty Oaks Softball Sweep Raritan Valley

Carneys Point, NJ. - The Salem Community College softball team swept Raritan Valley in a Garden State Athletic Conference double header Saturday.  With the two wins the Mighty Oaks are now 6-6 on the season.  

Game One
The first game of the double header saw the Mighty Oaks down in the first inning 1-0. But Salem was able to rally and take the lead in the second inning. The Mighty Oaks would not trail again the rest of the day.  Caitlyn LaGreca was solid on the mound for SCC going seven strong innings allowing just one hit and the sole unearned run.  Haley Pickerell lead the offense with a home run going 1 for 3 with 2 RBI. Lanae Ben went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and 2 walks. 

Game Two
The second game saw the Mighty Oaks get out to lead and dominate the game winning 10-2.  Karyn Trice had a great day for the Mighty Oaks going 3 for 4 with three runs scored and four stolen bases. Vaye Savage added to the offense going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Morgan Mecham was solid on the mound for SCC going five innings allowing just two runs on three hits. 

Salem will back in action when they travel to RCSJ-Gloucester for a double header Monday April 10 on the campus of RCSJ. First pitch of game one will be at 3:00PM.
