Meet The Mighty Oaks Soccer Coaches

Meet The Mighty Oaks Soccer Coaches

Our Mighty Oaks men's soccer coach, Matt Murray, returns to SCC after previously holding the women's soccer coaching position in 2014. Our women's soccer coach, Brian Coulter, comes to SCC with a vast coaching experience with both men and women athletes from youth ages through 18u teams. Both are looking to build our soccer program and assist our student athletes to become better students, athletes, and citizens.

Coach Matt Murray is gearing up to bring men's soccer back in the 2020-2021 academic year- so let's get to know the guy behind the job. Murray's role model is his lifelong friend and mentor, Orlando Pena. His go-to Netflix series is Ozark, and his karoke song is "One Day." When he's not coaching soccer, coach says you can find him DOOP'n with the Philadephia Union! If he was stranded on an island he would bring a bike, Adidas championship league match ball, and an air pump. His favorite quote is, "To who Eulalio?  Who's he supposed to pass it to?"

Next up, Coach Brian Coulter! He will be leading the return of SCC women's soccer after five years without. He is our third Mighty Oak to choose Ozark as his go-to Netflix serious. His role model is his older brother Carl, who always encourages him to look at a scenario from both sides and to choose optimism. Coach enjoys playing soccer at the amateur level when he isn't coaching the game, and if given the choice of one meal for the rest of his life would choose pizza. His favorite quote is "Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice." - Anton Chekov
