Carneys Point, NJ. – Dante Brinkley scored 22 points to lead the Salem Community College men's basketball team to its first victory of the Coach Mike Green era.  Coach Green took over the Mighty Oaks between semesters as Coach Williams needed to step away from the program after reintroducing the program in 2019.  With the win SCC moves to 3-5 on the season.

Brinkley lead the way in a back and forth battle that saw the lead change several times throughout the match up.  Ahmodrion Jones netted 17 going 6-9 from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.  Freshman guard Niame Scott added 16 on the night going 5-8 from the field while also going 4-5 on foul shots.

The Mighty Oaks have a quick turn around as they will travel to defending NJCAA national champion Brookdale Community College Thursday January 11.  This will mark a tough stretch for Salem in which they will play three games in four days.  Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 at Brookdale.
