Mighty Oaks Baseball Wins Big Over Luzerne

Nanticoke, PA. – The Salem Community College baseball team won on the road against Region 19 opponent Luzerne County Community College 23-1.  With the win the Mighty Oaks move to 17-20 on the season.

On the mound for SCC John McAllister pitched five strong innings allowing just one run on two hits striking out twelve batters.  Will Jones came in relief with two shutout innings striking out six.

At the plate the Mighty Oaks tallied 20 hits as a team.  Matt Murphy and Ben Charbonneau each had a 3 hit day while each driving in 3 runs with Murphy hitting two doubles.  Dane Thomas also had a three hit day while driving in a run.

Up next for SCC will be Montgomery County Community College.  The Mighty Oaks will host the Mustangs Wednesday April 24 for a single nine inning game with the first pitch slated for 3:30 at the Treehouse.
