Salem traveled to Media, Pa today to close out their season on the road with a doubleheader against the Delaware County Community College Phantoms. The Mighty Oaks swept the Phantoms with a score of 15-2 in game one and a score of 26-6 in game two, which extended their current win streak to five, their highest of the season, and improves their record to 13-14 on the season.

The first six batters all scored for Salem giving them a six run lead to start game one. Delaware County will be the only one to score until the sixth inning following the Mighty Oaks offensive showing in the top of the first, but they will score their only two runs of the game. In the top of the sixth, the Mighty Oaks extended their lead by plating four more runs to make it a 10-2 game. Drew Tongue (Glassboro, NJ / Glassboro HS) drives in Phil Sedalis (Wenonah, NJ / Deptford Township HS) and Caleb Ritchie (Clarksboro, NJ / Kingsway HS) off of a double before being brought in by Tucker Dorrity (Ocala, Fl / Fayette County HS) off of a single. The final run of the sixth inning came off the bat of Nigel Mills (Salisbury, MD / Wicomico HS), who singled to bring in Dakota Rowen (Venice, FL / McIntosh HS). Salem wrapped up game one of the doubleheader by scoring five more runs in the seventh to put the Phantoms away, 15-2.

Patrick Montagna (Pennsville, NJ / Pennsville Memorial High School) started on the mound for the Mighty Oaks and earned his third win of the season after pitching four innings and allowing only two hits and striking out eight.

In game two, the Mighty Oaks offense scored it's first run within the first two at-bats of the game with Nick Toms (Pennsville, NJ / Pennsville HS) hitting a leadoff triple and Drew Tongue batting him in by grounding out to shortstop. The offense scores two more runs to start the game off for Salem with Ted Moos (Berlin, NJ / Eastern HS) bringing in Phil Sedalis off of a single with the bases loaded and Ethan Gill (Mickelton, NJ / Kingsway HS) bringing Nigel Mills off of a fielder's choice to give the Mighty Oaks a 3-0 lead at the end of the first. In the second inning, Caleb Ritchie hit a single with the bases loaded to score two before Jacob Todd (Claxton, GA / Pinewood Christian Academy) hits his second homerun of the season to clear the bases making it an 8-0 ballgame. The Phantoms did respond in the bottom of the second scoring four runs but it would not matter as the Mighty Oaks piled on 17 runs in the top of the third to give them a 25-4 lead. Delaware County scores two more in the final two innings of the run-rule shortened game and Ted Moos scores the final run for the Mighty Oaks by hitting his second home run of the season to cap off the 36-6 victory to complete the sweep over Delaware County.

Sean Broadhurst (Deptford, NJ / Deptford Township HS) started the game for Salem and pitched three innings allowing four runs on six hits. Jarred Reis (Williamstown, NJ / Williamstown HS) came in to relieve Broadhurst in the fourth inning and will receive the win for game two.
