Mighty Oaks Complete Sweep in Series against Camden

Salem completed the sweep in the two game series against Camden County College today after a late game rally by the Mighty Oaks propelled them to a 10-6 victory against the Cougars on the road.

 The game came down to the wire as the teams were tied through seven innings, 6-6. The Mighty Oaks secured the lead in the eighth inning scoring four runs on four hits. Highlighting the eighth inning was Phil Sedalis (Wenonah, NJ / Deptford Township HS), who hit his fourth home run of the season, driving in Nick Davis (Middletown, DE / Appoquinimink HS) and putting the Mighty Oaks up 10-6. Davis and Sedalis both had stand out performances, driving in three runs apiece off of four and five hits, respectively, in five at-bats. Sedalis is on a tear, with nine hits in his last nine at bats, with three homers and two doubles. Patrick Montagna (Pennsville, NJ / Pennsville Memorial High School) started on the mound for Salem and pitched seven innings before being relieved by Ryan Dipper (Woodbury Heights, NJ / Gateway HS), who was awarded the win, and Sean Broadhurst (Deptford, NJ / Deptford Township HS). Dipper and Broadhurst allowed only one hit in the final two innings to secure Salem's fifth win of the season.

The Mighty Oaks will next be action Saturday, April 10, when they host the Bergen Community College Bulldogs for a doubleheader starting at noon.
