The Mighty Oaks Men's baseball team will open their season up Friday, March 6th at 2:30 PM against the Ocean County College Vikings. This season will be the team's first since the return of athletics at SCC. John Holt is no stranger to the GSAC conference having coached at Burlington County from 1998-2011, earning GSAC coach of the year two times, and Region XIX coach of the year in 2009. Coach Holt commented, "We are very excited to get a new era of baseball started at Salem Community College. The boys have been working very hard in preparation for the upcoming season, and I am excited to see that hard work pay off." Following the teams opening series against OCC, they will head south for five games in South Carolina, competitors will include Penn State Beaver, Penn State Hazleton, College of DuPage, and Lakeland Community College. Upon return, the men will jump back into conference play at Middlesex County College.

Coach Holt is joined by assistant coaches Dan Gavlick, Zach Gemberling, and Sean Hanhouser leading the return. The team is a diverse group, with athletes from Salem County and Delaware all the way to Florida and Georgia. This year will be most of the players first collegiate baseball experience except for sophomore Alex Williford. Holt says, "We are a young team but a very talented one.  We will make some mistakes along the way, but I am certain we will learn throughout the season a evolve as a unit." The men have been hard at work in the fall, keeping a competitive atmosphere. The coaches hope to build a culture that the school as a whole can be proud of.

SCC will be playing most of their home games at the Maplezone Sports Institute in Aston, Pennsylvania, with the exceptions of their 3/28 double header against Cumberland County and 4/10 game against Brookdale - which will be played at the University of Delaware.
