Carneys Point, NJ. – Led by four players in double figures, the Salem Community College women's basketball team notched a 99-61 victory over Anne Arundel Community College in the Mighty Oaks season opener at the DuPont Fieldhouse.
Nyaijah Jackson paved the way with a team high 16 points. Imara James added 15 points, while Geovanna Tjaden and Kathryn Laurence each kicked in 14 and 13 respectively.
Defensivley, Jakayla Jenkins and Jolee Robinson were tied as the team's top rebounders with 6 boards on the night. Jackson and Alexa Hopkins each added a team high 3 steals in a solid all-around performance by the Mighty Oaks.
The Mighty Oaks will start Region 19 play on Tuesday November 14 when they will host Delaware Technical Community College at the DuPont Fieldhouse with a tip off slated for 5:00PM.
