Welcome Women's Basketball Head Coach Megan Fox

Megan Fox has been named head coach of the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks women's basketball team. 

Most recently, Fox coached the Seaford (Del.) High School varsity girls' team and was selected as the head coach of the Gold team of the Delaware Blue/Gold All-Star Game in 2018.  Previously, she was an assistant coach for the Wesley College women's team in Dover, Del.

"In her interview, we were greatly impressed with the experience and energy that Megan could bring to our program," said Director of Athletics Dr. Bob Bunnell.  "Her excellent playing and coaching background, mixed with her enthusiasm and outgoing personality, will be a great addition to the women's basketball team, and the athletic program. We are delighted to have her with us."

In addition to her coaching duties at SCC, Fox is a special education teacher at Freire Charter School of Wilmington. 

"I strive to be a great role model for young athletes," said the Woodbury resident.  "I emphasize that basketball can be used to teach young people about life. That's why I use the sport as a tool to create confident, resilient and respectable young women." 

As the Arcadia women's basketball team captain in 2014-2015, Fox helped the team clinch its first playoff berth since 1998. Fox earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice from Arcadia University.  She anticipates graduating with a master's degree in special education from Wilmington University in May. 

SCC will offer partial scholarships to a limited number of women student-athletes for the academic year starting in September. In-state and out-of-state female student athletes are eligible.
