Randolph, NJ. – The Mighty Oaks softball team traveled to the County College of Morris to earn a split in their double header losing game one 6-4 and winning the nightcap convincingly 18-6. With the split SCC moves to 10-8 on the season.
Game 1
The Mighty Oaks fell to CCM late in game one losing 6-4. At the plate for Salem sophomore Ella Hayes lead the way going 3 for 4 while driving in a run and stealing 3 bases. Tiana Wilson went 3 for 3 for the Mighty Oaks and Chantelle Haskie also had a multi-hit day for SCC going 2 for 3. Raegan Wilson took the loss for Salem throwing a complete game.
Game 2
Game two saw the Mighty Oaks offense erupt for 12 hits as team. Hayes continued her hot day at the plate going 2 for 4 with a grand slam home run and a double while driving in 6 runs for SCC. Sophomore Callie Rozak also homered for the Mighty Oaks going 1 for 4 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Wilson continued her great day at the plate going 3 for 3 again in game two driving in 5 runs with a double and 3 runs scored. Jill Robinson picked up the victory for SCC going the distance for the Mighty Oaks allowing just 2 earned runs.
The Mighty Oaks have a big week ahead of them starting Tuesday April 1 when they will host Region 19 foe Lackawanna College for a big Region double header. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30PM at Watson Field in Pennsville, NJ.
