Pennsville, NJ. – The Mighty Oaks softball had a dominant day as they swept Raritan Valley Community College in a Region 19 double header, 22-0 and 8-0. With the win the Mighty Oaks move to 9-5 on the season.
Game 1
Game one saw the Mighty Oaks offense jump out early and often scoring 9 runs in the first inning and compiling 15 hits on the day. Sophomores Callie Rozak and Ella Hayes led the way for the Mighty Oaks at the plate. Hayes went 2 for 4 with a double, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI while Rozak went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 5 RBI. Tessa Wise had a solid day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and an RBI. On the mound for SCC Raegan Wilson went the distance for the shutout allowing just 4 hits with 7 strikeouts.
Game 2
Salem picked up on the mound where it left off in game one. Sophomore Jill Robinson pitched the complete game shutout striking out 4 and allowing a single hit. Aislynne Deviney drove in 2 runs while going 1 for 3 with a run scored in the nightcap. Chantelle Haskie also drove in 2 going 1 for 2 with a run scored and a double.
Up next for SCC will be RCSJ-Gloucester on Thursday March 27 at Gloucester. First pitch of the double header is scheduled for 3:30PM.
