Softball Drops Two to Del. Tech.

Georgetown, DE. – The Salem Community College Mighty oaks softball team dropped two ballgames on the road to Delaware Tech. Community College on Tuesday, losing 14-5 in game one and 15-2 in the second contest. 

Game 1

DTCC jumped out to an early 5 – 0 lead through the first two innings of play.  The Mighty Oaks answered back with 4 in the top of the 3rd, but Del. Tech. answered back with 5 in the bottom half of the inning.  SCC came up with another run in the 5th but were unable to catch DTCC.  For Salem Karyn Trice had a strong day going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and a home run, while Vaye Savage continued her hitting going 1 for 3 with a run scored, 2 RBI and a double on the day.

Game 2

Game two saw the DTCC offense continue to stay hot jumping on the Mighty Oaks early.  Karyn Trice continued to swing the bat well going 2 for 3 with a run scored for the Salem.  Fait Penn went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

The Mighty Oaks next contest will be a double header Thursday March 23 when they travel to Howard Community College with the first pitch at 3:30PM.
