Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College softball team played their first home game in a decade in a big way. The Mighty Oaks picked up two wins against Bucks County Community College, 20-1 and 14-1.
Game 1
Freshman catcher Vaye Savage got the Mighty Oaks to w solid start with a 2 run home run in the first inning. Savage would go 2 for 2 on the day with 3 RBI. Up and down the Salem women we strong on offense with five Mighty Oaks having multiple hit days. On the mound Caitlyn LaGreca had a good day with the complete game and two strikeouts.
Game 2
The offense continued to click for Salem in game two. Kyla Buerger went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI while Haylee Pickrell went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. The Mighty Oaks continued their slugging way having sic players with multi hit games. Morgan Mecham was dominate on the mound with 4 strike outs, no walks in the complete game.
The Mighty Oaks will be on the road next when they face off against Delaware Tech on Tuesday March 21st in a double-header starting at 2:30.
