First Home Loss for Mighty Oaks

Salem's men's soccer program received their first home loss of the season after falling to the Raritan Valley Community College Lions, 2-1.

Two of the three goals were scored in the first half, with Raritan Valley first on the board, scoring 20:41 into the game. Less than a minute later (21:32) the Mighty Oaks responded, scoring off of a penalty kick by Pedro Paulo Maia (Joao Pessoa-PB, Brazil / Colegio Motiva), his third goal of the season.  The deciding goal of the game came on a Lions penalty kick 12 minutes into the second half. The Mighty Oaks remained aggressive in their comeback attempt with six shots in the final 30 minutes of play, but were turned away without a score.

The Mighty Oaks will close out their season tomorrow, May 7, when they travel to the County College of Morris to take on the Titans with action starting at 4 PM.
