Coach Williams enters his fourth season as head coach of the Mighty Oaks men's basketball program in 2023-24. He came to Salem in 2019-20 as part of the rebirth of the entire athletics program. The Wilmington, DE resident is a graduate of Cabrini University, where he was the starting point guard for four years, and captain for three years, as Cabrini was one of the top 10 NCAA Division III programs in the country. Williams came to Salem after having previous coaching experience as an assistant at Wesley College, Immaculata University and Cabrini University, along with a two-year stint as Varsity Boys Head Coach at Seaford High School in Delaware.

In Williams´s first season, the Mighty Oaks finished 9-17 with all 9 wins against Region 19/GSAC conference opponents. Lamar Woody was named 2nd Team All-Region, and 1st Team All-GSAC after leading the conference in scoring as a freshman. In 2020-21 the team did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021-22, the team improved to an 18-10 overall record and advanced to the 2nd round of the NJCAA Region 19 playoffs. Eric Neal was named 2nd Team All-Region, and 2nd Team All-GSAC along with Myles Haynes who was named 3rd Team All-GSAC. Eric Neal was also named to NJCAA Academic All American Team.

In Coach Williams tenure the Mighty Oaks have seen many of his players move on to contribute at four year institutions.
