Mike Green is the Head Basketball Coach at Salem Community College. Coach Green took over the Mighty Oaks midseason in 2023. Inheriting a team with 8 players and finishing with 6 players. Green and his staff finished the season 9-9. 2024-25 Coach Green and his staff has made an immediate impact in their first full season. Under his leadership, the team achieved remarkable success, winning the Region 19 title and finishing 5th nationally with a 26-8 record. Known for his dedication to player development and team dynamics, Green has quickly established himself as a leader both on and off the court. His strategic approach and commitment to excellence have set a new standard for success at Salem Community College.

Growing up in Philadelphia, Green attended Franklin Learning Center, where he was a standout athlete and earned All-Public and All-City selection honors. He went on to have an impressive college career, first attending Towson University from 2003-2005, where he set the freshman record for most minutes played and most starts, while averaging double figures in both seasons.

In 2006, Green transferred to Butler University, where he played from 2006-2008, contributing to the team’s remarkable 69-11 record. Two NCAA tournament appearances, beating Old Dominion and Maryland before falling to the eventual champ Florida. The following year Green and the Bulldogs beat South Alabama before losing to Tennessee. During his time at Butler, he earned multiple honors, including Newcomer of the Year, Player of the Year, and a spot on the All-Defensive Team. His national accolades include winning the prestigious Chip Hilton Award and being named MVP of the Great Alaska Shootout.

Following his college career, Green played professionally for 12 years, competing in six different countries and further honing his basketball skills. Now, as a coach, he brings a wealth of experience from his time both on and off the court, inspiring his players to reach new heights.
