Cranford, NJ. – Despite 27 points from Akeem Taylor, the Salem Community College men's basketball team came up short after fighting back from a tough first half and lost to Union College 87-77. With the loss the Mighty Oaks fall to 15-5 on the season.
Taylor went 11 for 21 from the field to lead the Mighty Oaks in scoring while Tamir Powell add 20 points for Salem shoot 3-8 from beyond the three-point line. Jahiem Spencer had a dominate night under the rim pulling down 17 rebounds to go along with 3 blocked shots.
Salem return home Thursday for a match up with Williamson College of Trades with a 4:00PM tip off.
