Toms River, NJ. – Ocean County College hit free throws with five seconds left to play to edge the Salem Community College men's basketball team, 73-70, in a contest that went down to the wire at OCC. Rodney Shelton led the Mighty Oaks with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocked shots for his third double-double of the season.
Tyrese Fortune added 14 points for Salem going a perfect 4-4 from the foul line. Xavier Brewington continued a solid freshman campaign adding 13 points with 7 rebounds for the Mighty Oaks.
Up next for Salem will be Williamson College of the Trades. The Mighty Oaks will travel to Williamson on Thursday December 12 with a schedule 7:00PM tip-off.
