Vineland, NJ – The Salem Community College men's basketball team picked up a big conference win, 91-79, against RCSJ – Cumberland. SCC had not been in game action for ten days due to postponments of their last two games.
"It feels good to get a conference win on the road after 10 days off", said Head Coach AJ Williams.
Five Mighty Oaks were in double figures, with sophomore Paris Hickman leading all scorers with 25 points. Also in double figures were Eric Neal with 19 points and 11 assists, Antonio Campbell with 13 points, Rob Whitaker with 13 points and Austin Ruth with 10 points.
"We had five guys in double figures and yet I feel like we played pretty unselfishly," added Williams. "If we continue to do that, we will continue to compete".
With the win, the Mighty Oaks move to 4-3 on the young season, with a large portion of their conference schedule remaining.
"It wasn't pretty and we have a lot to work on but there were a lot of positives tonight," said Coach Williams.
Salem is back in action when they travel to Eastern University to take on the university's JV program Thursday December 2 with a tip off at 5:00PM.
