Wilmore's Buzzer Beating Shot Brings First Home Victory

Tuesday night's game brought victory to the DuPont Fieldhouse. The Vikings took the lead in the first half going up 18-7 in the first ten minutes. SCC answered back, going for a 13 point run to bring them in the lead 20-18. The Mighty Oaks went into the half up 34-31.

The second half was a close race between Salem and the Vikings, switching leads throughout. Jaisan Wilmore and Maurice Freeman both recorded 11 points in the second half, keeping the Mighty Oaks in the game. OCC's Carson Glenn Francisco made a lay up to tie the game 70-70 with 29 seconds remaining. 

SCC's Jaisan Wilmore won the game with a buzzer beating shot, and the Mighty Oaks recorded their first home win of the season!

Maurice Freeman and Lamar Woody led in scoring each recording a total 19 points, followed by Jaisan Wilmore (15). Woody recorded a double double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guard, Eric Neal, contributed an impressive 12 assists. 

Anthony Petit-Clair led the Vikings in scoring with 23 points, followed by Na'Sir Dillard (21), and Carson Glenn Francisco (12). 

Next up, another home game for the Mighty Oaks, Thursday January 23rd against Brookdale. Tipoff is 6PM.
