Baseball Drops Two to Middlesex

Carneys Point, NJ. - Sunday saw the Salem Community Oollege baseball team lose both games of a Garden State Athletic Conference double header against Middlesex College.  With the two loses Salem move to 7-13 on the season.

Game One
In the first game both teams scored a single run in both the 4th and 6th innings of the game forcing the game into extra innings. In the top of the 8th inning Middlesex scored three runs to take the lead. Salem was unable to answer back dropping the game 5-2. For SCC Michael Blackiston went 1 for 1 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 2 walks.  Ben Foote took the lose going seven and one third innings.

Game Two
The Mighty Oaks could not get much going on offense in game two only getting two hits as a team. Noel Olavarria went 1 for 2 with a walk. Nick Toms got the SCC other hit going 1 for 3 in the game. Vonzell Rivera earned the loss going five innings allowing four earned runs. 

The Mighty Oaks have a short turn around as they will face Ocean County College Tuesday for a single nine inning game at home.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:00PM at the Carneys Point Recreational Complex.
