
Myrtle Beach, SC. – The Salem Community College Mighty Oaks baseball team started their spring 2023 season at the Ripkin Experience located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. The team returns home with a 4-5 record to start their season. The team played four out of the nine games to extra innings going 2-2 in those games.
For the Mighty Oaks Nick Toms got off to a great start batting 462 though the first nine games with 4 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run. Also getting off to a solid start is sophomore Micheal Blackiston batting 333 with 2 homeruns to go along with 11 RBI. Freshman outfielder Zach Bate has gotten his collegiate career off to a great start batting 400 with 2 home runs.
Salem will open up Region 19 play when they host the first of a three-game series with Northampton Community College on Friday March 17. First pitch of the nine-inning game is scheduled for 3:30 at "The Treehouse" located at the Carneys Point Recreational Park
