
Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College baseball team picked up an important win against the Mustangs of Montgomery County Community College beating their Region 19 opponent 12-3.
On the mound the Mighty Oaks were led by Sean Broadhurst who went five strong innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4.
The offense for the Mighty Oaks got going in a big way. Salem notched 14 hits including home runs by Ryan Dipper and Jake Roberts. Dipper and Nick Toms each collected a team best 3 RBI. Roberts and Toms each had 3 hits on the day. Mighty Oaks second baseman Phil Sedalis added 2 RBI on the day while scoring 2 runs.
The Mighty Oaks are back in action Friday with the start of their three game Garden State Athletic series versus Bergen County Community College. Salem will be on the road Friday at 3:20 and back at home for the series finally double header at "The Treehouse", located at the Carneys Point Recreation Complex with the first game at 12:00.
