Congratulations to Mighty Oaks men's basketball player, Lamar Woody, on being named 1st team for NJCAA's Region 19 Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) at the conclusion of the 2019-2020 season. He proved game after game to be a an all-star for the men's basketball team. Coach AJ Williams commented "I am very proud of Lamar as he is getting the recognition he deserves for his success this season. This is just a testament to his dedication, passion for the game and hard work which paid off all year. Lamar represented himself, his family, Salem Community College, and our basketball program the right way both on and off the court. We're blessed to have him. I'm excited to see him work this off season."

The freshman guard is hard to defend, quick on his feet, and a repeated leading scorer for SCC. Over the course of the season, Woody tallied 668 total points. He scored an impressive season high 50 points in the home conference match up against Atlantic Cape Community, and put up an average of 25.7 points per game. Along with impressive scoring stats, Lamar totaled 101 assists throughout the season.

Woody will return next year for the Mighty Oaks, and we look forward to watching him contribute to the team's success as they take on year two of the return of athletics.
