Salem Loses in the Final Seconds of Their Final Game

The Mighty Oaks headed to Delaware Tech- Stanton Saturday afternoon to conclude their season against the Athletics. The first half was a back and forth battle, but the Mighty Oaks were able to go into halftime with a 3 point lead 36-33. 

The second half kept a close contest between the Mighty Oaks and the Athletics. SCC was able to pull into a 10 point lead with 2:30 remaining on the clock, taking the game to 80-70. Del Tech continued to battle back, and won the game with a three in the final seconds. A very closely contested game ended in heart breaking defeat for the Mighty Oaks 86-85.

Lamar Woody led the Mighty Oaks in scoring with 29, followed by Robert Whitaker (26), and Eric Neal (14). 

Rashaan Butler led the Athletics with 36, followed by Yshaad Butler with 19. 

The loss at Delaware Tech brings the Mighty Oaks to 9-17 on the season. This game concludes the comeback season for SCC men's basketball. We look forward to their future successes!
