Woody Puts Up 50 in Explosive Win Over Atlantic Cape

An impressive offensive performance carried the Mighty Oaks to a 113-91 victory over the Atlantic Cape Buccaneers Tuesday evening.

The first minutes of the game were closely contested, and with 13 minutes remaining, the score was tied 18 all. Salem led at the end of the first half 58-43. Maurice Freeman went 6-9 on three point shots and Lamar Woody went 12-14 from the floor. 

Lamar Woody continued to roll on offense picking up 23 points in the second half. Salem's 9 point run took them to a 103-78 lead over Atlantic with five minutes remaining. Within the final minutes the Mighty Oaks extended their lead to 113-91 for a home win over the Bucaneers.

Lamar Woody led the Oaks in scoring with a season high 50 points! He recorded a double double, adding 12 rebounds. Robert Whitaker recorded a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Maurice Freeman contributed 32 points to the offensive efforts with 8 three pointers, and Eric Neal recorded an impressive 13 assists.

The Buccaneer's Marcus Franklin scored 29 points. Tariq Adams (24) and Kevin Gisondi (11) also went for double digits. Tariq Adams recorded a double double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Might Oaks will face off with Delaware County Thursday February 6th in the DuPont Fieldhosue. Tip-off is 7 PM.
