SCC Knocks Off Brookdale for Another Home Win

The SCC Mighty Oaks defeated Brookdale for their second consecutive home win Thursday night. The first three minutes of the game were scoreless for both sides. Salem dominated in the first half, going for a 13-2 run to make the score 19-6. The Jersey Blues battled back to close in on a 6 point deficit, Salem led 30-24 at half time.

The Mighty Oaks extended their lead early in the second half taking the score to 36-24 in the first two minutes. Brookdale went for a 13-2 run in the second half tying the score at 38, but SCC was able to gain control and pull back into the lead. Tough defense and timely scoring carried the Mighty Oaks to an 11 point victory, defeating Brookdale 62-51.

Lamar Woody led SCC in scoring racking up an impressive 23 points, followed by Jaisan Wilmore (13) and Eric Neal (12). Eric Neal contributed 6 assists for the Oaks, and Troy Johnson and Jaisan Wilmore collected 7 rebounds each.

The Jersey Blues leading scorer was Tyler Hawkins with 23 points followed by Beyon Wilson with 7. Tyler Hawkins and Beyon Wilson collected 7 rebounds each for Brookdale. 

SCC will look to extend their winning streak this Saturday, January 25th, hosting Passaic. Tip-off is 12:30 PM.
