Meet The Mighty Oaks Basketball Coaches

Meet The Mighty Oaks Basketball Coaches

For this weeks meet the coaches we are featuring our head men's basketball coach, AJ Williams, and head women's basketball coach, Megan Fox.

Our men's basketball team finished the 2019-2020 season with a 9-17 overall record. Coach AJ Williams led the team in the return of men's basketball. Coach Williams' favorite memory as a coach is winning the first game of the season at Salem Community College and the celebration that followed. His favorite memory as an athlete is going to DIII national championship and elite 8 in Salem, VA back to back years. Coach Williams says his role model is his dad, Greg, because he has modeled how to work hard, take care of your family, and treat people well. Greg can be seen on the bench at each of the men's home games, and is a staple for the Mighty Oaks! When he's not on the court, Coach AJ enjoys hanging out with his fiance and friends or watching the Netflix series "Last Chance U." Coach's favorite quote is, "well done is better than well said."

Our women's basketball team will compete in the 2020-2021 season. Coach Megan Fox has been recruiting a team to begin in the 2020-2021 season. Her most recent coaching experience was at Seaford High and she brings a tremendous amount of energy to the court. Her favorite memory as a player is her time on her high school team, where she found lifelong best friends. Her role model is her dad, who's always led by example, and never missed a game. When she's not on the court, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her daughter Tatum. Dwayne Wade is her favorite athlete, because of his versatility and family focus. If you ever find her on a Karoke stage, she'll be singing Beyonce.
