Mighty Oaks Softball Roll Past Raritan Valley, 16 Straight Wins

Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College softball team continued their dominance recording a sweep of Raritan Valley Community College with a game one score of 23-1 and a game 2 score of 19-0.  With the 2 Region 19 wins the Mighty Oaks sit atop the standings with a 18-4 record.

Game 1

The Mighty Oaks erupted early with a 10 run 1st inning and never looked backed.  Current conference player of the week Ella Hayes continued her dominance going 3 for 3 on the day with a double, a home run, 4 runs scored and 6 RBI.  Courtney Hoggard had a good day at the plate going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Caitlin LaGreca pitched a complete game allowing only 1 run with 5 strike outs.

Game 2

The Mighty Oaks offense continued to roll scoring in every inning of game two.  Freshman catcher Callie Rozak led the way going 2 for 2 with a double, 3 runs scored and 5 RBI.  Tessa Wise drove in 3 to go along with Juanic Beukman who also drove in 2 runs for the Mighty Oaks.  Morgan Mecham continued a stellar sophomore year on the mound pitching three scoreless innings striking out 8.

The Mighty Oaks softball team return to the diamond Sunday April 7 when they host Bucks County Community College for a double header with first pitch of game one slated for 12:00.
