Mighty Oaks Softball Wins Their Tenth Straight

Pennsville, NJ. – The Mighty Oaks softball team continued to roll to sweeping their doubleheader over Northampton Community College 11-10 and 11-2.  Salem has now won an impressive ten games on a row.

"They are working hard and it's just exciting to see it all come together," said Mighty Oaks Head Coach Angel Rodriguez.  "They are having fun, playing for each other and continuing to adjust to each game."

Game 1

Game one was a tightly contested battle that saw the Mighty Oaks offense score consistently and overcome the threat of a big sixth inning by Northampton. Salem won 11-10.  Ella Hayes had a very strong day at the plate going 5 for 5 with a double and 4 RBI. Juanic Beukman also hit well for SCC going 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 RBI and a run scored.  Sophomore Karyn Trice pick up the win on the mound for Salem but also went 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 runs scored and an RBI.

Game 2

The Mighty Oaks finished the day strong with a dominate performance topping NCC 11-2.  Freshman Courtney Hoggard led the Mighty Oaks going 4 for 4 at the plate with a double and 4 RBI.  Hayes continued her day going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and runs scored in game two. Faith Penn also went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored and an RBI.  Morgan Mecham picked up her 5th straight win of the winning streak going 5 innings allowing 7 hits 1, run and 3 strike outs.

Salem will be back on the diamond when they host Middlesex College on Tuesday March 26 for a home double header. First pitch for game one is slated for 3:30PM.
