It's Meet the Mighty Oaks Monday! Meet freshman pitcher Renee Ridgway.
Ridgway is a Salem County native, graduating from Pennsville Memorial High School. She studies education at SCC, and made the decision to attend because she felt it gave her the best opportunity to juggle school, work, and being a college athlete - all of which are important to her. Renee's favorite thing about playing softball is the feeling you get being out on the field, she says it's as if time slows down and everything stands still.
Ridgway's favorite memory from the fall was softball's team bonding day. She says that day left her and her teammates feeling like they were becoming a family, more than just a team. When she's not in the circle, Ridgway enjoys spending time at work with her students and lesson planning.
The Mighty Oaks softball team is set to start competing in the 2020-2021 year!
