SCC's Mighty Oaks Record a Loss to the Delaware Phantoms

Salem County hosted Delaware County Community College Thursday night for a very closely contested battle. Both teams exchanged leads throughout, but ultimately the game ended in victory for the Delaware County Phantoms. Majority of the first half was kept to a two point game. The score going into half time was DCCC 40 SCC 39.

The Mighty Oaks fought to a 10 point lead in the second half, with 14 minutes remaining Delaware trailed 54-44. The Mighty Oaks kept their lead until the Phantoms crept back in with 7 minutes remaining. Delaware County sealed the win with a final score of 81-77.

Lamar Woody led SCC in scoring with 34. Maurice Freeman (12) and Jaisan Wilmore (11) followed him in double digits. 

Joshua Grant led Delaware in scoring with 20. His teammates Shawn Mendez (19), Mike Mallon (17), Yohance Garner (11), and Steven Wilis (10) also put up double digits.

The Mighty Oaks will compete again Saturday February 8th against Sussex. There will be a ceremony to honor our sophomores, Troy Johnson and Maurice Freeman, celebrating their time here as a Mighty Oak.
