Salem Continues their Winning Streak at Sussex

The Mighty Oaks extended their win streak on the road Saturday at Sussex County CC. Salem took control early in the game going on a 10-4 run to begin the game. The Skylanders answered back, with Raymere Grant going on a 10 point run to bring the game within 9 points at the half. Salem led 46-35 at halftime.

The Mighty Oaks kept their lead throughout the second half. Sussex brought the score within 4 points with 12:30 left in the game trailing SCC 54-50, but Salem stayed ahead to take their third win on the road 68-65. 

Lamar Woody had a double-double leading the team in points (31) and rebounds (14). Robert Whitaker (22), Stephon Fauntroy (14), and and Maurice Freeman (14) each followed Woody with double digit scoring.

Reldi Durrsi led the Skylanders in scoring with 16 points followed closely by Tamir Williams with 15 points. George Mendez also put up double digits for Sussex with 13 points. 

The Mighty Oaks will compete again Tuesday, December 17th, at Brookdale Community College. Tipoff is 5 PM.
