Baseball Wins Big Over Delco., 21-3

Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College baseball team returned home from their southern trip in a big way topping Delaware County Community College 21-3 in Region 19 play.  With the victory Salem moves to 6-5 on the season.

The Mighty Oaks got out to a quick lead jumping on the Phantoms for 10 runs in the first inning highlighted by a three-run home run by Demtrius DeRamus . It is DeRamus's third home run on the young season.  Ryan Silnik led the way on the mound for SCC throwing four shut out innings and striking out 8. Sophomore shortstop Elijah Real went 2 for 3 on the day scoring three runs.

Up next for Salem will be the nationally ranked Northampton Community College Spartans.  NCC is currently ranked number 6 in the NJCAA division 3 polls.  SCC will be at Northampton Thursday March 14 with a 3:30 start time.
