Salem Cross Country Picks up a Medal at Dukes Invitational

September 7th was an exciting day for our cross country team and all Mighty Oaks. Our 2019-20 cross country season began at the Duke's Invitational hosted by Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland. First to compete for the Mighty Oaks was Emily McGlamery in the women's race. Passing opponents in the final strides of the race, she helped herself to finish 26th.

Jacob Schmid is our first medalist of the 2019-20 return of athletics, finishing in 17th place out of 70 participants with a time of 18:43.32. Next to finish for the Salem Mighty Oaks was Troy Bass followed by Mason Elwell in 36th and 37th place. The SCC men's cross country team finished sixth as a team with 126 combined points.

Our cross country team will complete again on Saturday, September 21st for the Bill Fritz Invitational hosted by Rowan University at the Gloucester County Dream Park. The women's race will start at 10:30 am and the men's race will start at 11:15 am.
